I guess it works…
So yes this does record but it isn’t really practical. Size wise, it’s best for a MD or larger dog, if you have a larger cat like Mane Coon, or Serval it will probably work well too. The battery says it lasts about 3hrs but I noticed it dying closer to 2hrs. To get it turned on and recording is a pain, make sure you keep the instructions cause you’ll probably want to refer to them quite a bit for this… I know I did. The design is annoying as well, the buttons are sunken in and stick up and while putting it into the case there is chance you’ll hit a button that stops it recording and you won’t get anything. Also you’ll have to set it up then put in the mount as there isn’t a way to mess with the camera once it’s in the mount as everything is fully enclosed.Quality is laughable, it doesn’t even seem to be 720p 90% of the time and if your pet is super active you’ll think you’re lagging irl watching about 2-10 frames a second maybe more but not by much. Recording at night or low light, just forget it.

not wonderful
not a great design, not a great recording.

Technically works, but pretty rough.
The camera is a good size for a dog, and does work. It would be a bit bulky on a cat, which was what I was hoping to use it for. Unfortunately, the battery life (about 3 hours) isn’t long enough to justify putting the camera on an outdoor cat. So I tested it on my lab when I put him outside a handful of times.First, it is a complete pain to get the thing recording. There are two buttons, so their actions are reused throughout the interface and I struggled to remember the sequence to power on and start recording. It’s not like a dashcam where it’s just always loop recording — you have to start the recording, and then not stop it.The biggest problem is, the buttons aren’t recessed and the collar mount covers them, meaning there’s a 90% chance you’re going to stop recording when putting the camera into the mount. You can’t put it in the mount and then press record, because the mount covers them. So the first 6 times I tried to use the camera, I got four recordings. The recordings themselves are not great. There is no low-light mode, and the frame rate is brutal. My dog had zoomies for a bit, and you got basically four frames a second so it was more like a slideshow than a video. The audio is extremely limited, you can’t hear anything except the dog himself. For example, I’m standing right in front of him and talking to him, and you can’t hear a word of it.
