Customers say
Customers find the pet toy engaging for both pets and owners. They appreciate its design and how it can be controlled from a phone. However, some customers feel it’s not worth the high price, especially for strong chewers. The battery life is also a concern, with some receiving only about 10 minutes of use before needing to charge again. There are mixed opinions on durability and functionality.

Best techie toy I’ve seen
This is a great gift for a tech-friendly person. Father’s Day, I’m looking at you. Or you can splurge for yourself.I’ve had it for a couple days and it’s fun! It will be the type of toy that I show off to my friends.I rated it 5 stars because it’s technologically advanced and good enough to be good. But it reminds me of first generation robot vacuums – works as advertised but still needs work.1. The ball is attractively designed and my puppy hasn’t destroyed it (yet). But I shudder every time he sinks his teeth into it. It’s expensive enough that I will be annoyed if it doesn’t last. Time will tell. It needs to have a replaceable exterior.2. The auto-play function is cleverly designed. The bone taunts mercilessly and hilariously. But there are 10-15 second gaps in between movements which caused my border collie to lose interest. It needs multiple auto-play scenarios, like workout machines, so that you can play the one that your dog likes. You can adjust the activity-level settings, but that doesn’t do enough.3. It’s best in manual play, what a blast! The preset command buttons, such as spin, are easy to use and effective. But the joystick was unintuitive and a bit frustrating to me – perhaps a joystick gamer would be better at it. And how the heck am I supposed to know which way the bone considers “forward” vs “backward”?!?4. It’s much better on hard surfaces. It kinda works on my low-pile rugs, but not as well and struggles to transition between surface types.5. The battery isn’t very good. You need to recharge it after every play session. Yes, you will forget and it will be dead when you want to use it. Of course, battery life is a problem for everything with batteries, so welcome to the club, wickedbone.

Fractured my dog’s tooth
Update:This ended up fracturing my dogs tooth and she had to go through surgery to get the tooth removed. I really would not recommend this to anyone. Not a very friendly material. The middle housing is dense plastic so my dog (German Shepherd) doesn’t like to carry it in her mouth. I’m assuming its uncomfortable. She is also afraid of it most of the time, which is weird because she likes to play with just about anything. She even thinks our robot vacuum is a toy.On a more technical note, this doesn’t have any ability to work without a Bluetooth connection which is a poor design. It also has no power button. Each time you want to connect, you have to remove the charge port cover, plug it in, unplug it, then scan for the device, and finally connect with NFC by touching your phone to it. That is way too much effort for a device that is supposed to occupy my dog when I can’t. Save yourself the money and just try to make a little time for your dog. That is what I should have done.

Awesome concept, poor execution
I really love this thing, and I REALLY wanted it to work for us. We bought it for our 50lb lab mix for his adoption anniversary. He “plays with” (barks at and tries to chomp, playfully) the Roomba vacuum, and loved chasing around a little RC car that my brother got for Christmas. So I KNEW he’d love this toy. And he did! But, it’s too small for our medium dog, and definitely not durable for a heavy chewer like him. I love the idea that the toy can “run away” from him. But, it moves pretty slow and our dog can take one step and pick it up. I thought it would be okay if he does pick it up, because then it would spin and fall out of his mouth, and the game continues. No. If he has one half in his mouth, it stops spinning, and the other half continues. It’s definitely not a toy for dogs that are bigger than 25 pounds. If your dog likes to chase things and not grab them with his mouth, then this toy might be good for you. For us, it was a really awesome concept that, unfortunately, failed in execution. So we did return the toy. If it were bigger – like, big enough that the dog couldn’t pick it up (or at least not easily) – or much faster and stronger, where it would still spin in his mouth so he would spit it out, and he’d actually find challenge in chasing it, I would definitely try this product again.I would be really excited if the company read this review and started working on a larger size / a version more equipped for big dogs & heavy chewers!!!!

Dog loves it!
My dog loves this toy. I got this one and the ball from the same company for Christmas, and he picks this one over the ball every time! I charged it and pulled it off the charger/put it back four times when I got it as the instructions said to activate it, and it has worked perfectly! The app only seems to work when you are close which is the only negative I see since I can’t leave it for them to play when I’m gone like I can with the ball. Super fun though since I can control the bone movements! I would have given 5 stars but the product had a couple bite marks on it when I got it and was used. My dog absolutely goes crazy for this toy when it turns on though so I HAD to keep it!! 🙂

A great toy to keep your dog’s attention
The toy is fantastic for keeping your dog’s attention and keeping focused on engaging play. The instructions left a little to be desired, but once you figure out how to connect the Wickedbone to your app. it’s all good. I found that the interactive mode doesn’t engage my dog enough. I prefer to use the manual mode and make the bone jump, twist, run across the floor etc. with me controlling it watching how my dog reacts. She loves this toy. In fact, I purchased a second one as a back-up because this is one of her favorite toys. In fact, she had so much fun with it, we broke into her piggy bank and ordered a third one for her doggie friends across the street. This toy should be played with only with adult supervision. She loves to try and chew it like a bone and there are teeth marks all over the “tires”. I need to persistently reminder her not to chew it… she has learned to stop biting it and just lick it instead. Then I make it jump out her paw grip and the fun starts all over again. Play time in the manual mode is about 40 minutes on a full charge.
