Multi-purpose essential household mop, vacuum
I’ve had this vacuum mop for a couple of weeks and love it. For transparency, I did not receive this as a free product to give a review, I paid for it. I run this 2-3 times daily to keep my floors clean.Pros – it can handle multi-level mapping, the battery lasts a long time, it vacuums and mops at the same time, it doesn’t rub around dirty water, applies clean water as it goes, is relatively quiet as it cleans, hasn’t had any problems with items getting jammed in the brushCons – loud when emptying the vacuum and dirty water, have to use the manufacturer’s cleaning solution, the mop gets caught on flat rugs, it doesn’t mop the cornersIn total, I adore this mop. It saves me loads of time and keeps my floors clean, it was expensive but worth it. I hope it lasts (I’ll update if it fails).

Absolutely love this vacuum!

Hands free cleaning
This thing is great. But I didn’t realize I purchased the regular one. I wanted the pro. The pro mapping is better. It took a few runs to get the mapping sorted out.

Life changing!
Amazing as a floor mopper – leaves squeaky clean floors. I wish it also had automatic refill though

Impressive
It takes it a few times of cleaning to really get the map down, but once it does have the map done it works very well. I have dogs that leave their toys everywhere, this robot does a great job of navigating around those. I like that it will return to the base to clean itself out and the return to cleaning. The mop function works great for every day cleaning, but if your dogs are like mine and track in a ton of mud, I would clean that up first before trying to use this robot.

The roller mop pulls in thin rugs and gets stuck.

Good, but Flawed and Overpriced
First and foremost, this is a non-sponsored review. I bought this with my own money because I genuinely like these vacuums.Having owned two other robot vacs, I bought this as an upgrade to my roborock Qrevo s that I used downstairs. I figured everything would be an upgrade…which wasn’t the case. The good:- Mopping is absolutely incredible. I could eat off my floors. The ok, but not good:- Sweeping is good on hard floors, terrible on carpets, and it does an awful job getting into cornersThe not good:-The navigation and obstacle avoidance are sub part. It often stops, spins and circles, and seems to forget where it’s at. It bumps into shoes and eats cords. While it’s better than some, it’s lacking compared to others in its price range.Value is poor and I’d recommend another combo vac (dreame or roborock) over this one.

I’ve used a X1 Omni Ecovac that I bought for $1000 for almost 2 years now so I am comparing this to that machine as well as it’s general performance.Pros:- Mopping is great. Seems to be the only robomop that uses a long roller for mopping and it has a better consistent mopping performance than my X1 Omni.- App is less user friendly but is easy to learn and has great custom cleaning options. The app on Ecovac is much more user friendly but not very customizable. The biggest change is you get to program your own cleaning method. For example, if you want to vacuum a specific room first before mopping, you can customize it to do that. Or if you have a specific corner of a room that is known to be dirty (i.e pets), you can have it vacuum on max settings for that specific area and then mop it. This level is customization is great to have- The base is very space efficient. Unlike many other robomop bases where you get a rectangular base, Ecovac has a open base design and only has what is essential. It takes up much less space than other bases and the open dock design makes it much easier to clean compared to the bases where you have to get a flashlight to light the area up for cleaning.- It comes with cleaning solution which if you only clean for once/week it will last years- Unlike my Ecovac which only lets you select cleaning duration of 10, 15, and 25 minutes. Eufy lets you customize up to 85 minutes and the default is 55 minutes! Huuuge difference and it makes a significant impact on multifloor management- Allowing 55-85 min of runtime makes it great for cleaning multifloors. You can simply leave it at a new floor and it will clean it all before asking you to return it base. Might not seem like a big deal but I used a single Ecovac for my entire house and because it can only clean up to 25 minutes, it would request to be manually returned to base before it finished, and then because it has a buggy software, once you return it the floor, it doesn’t know where it left off and would will error out.- Cleaning efficiency is fine. It’s about the same as my Ecovac, takes around 1 minute per 10ft². Battery usage is about 10% for every 20 minutes of cleaning. Nothing special but still pretty good- It’s pretty quiet as far as vacuums go. Still noticeable but I can barely hear it once my doors closed.Neutral- Obstacle avoidance is average. Not much better than my Ecovac. Main issue is consistency. I would definitely do a walk around and pick up anything that can get snagged- No 3rd party accessories yet. Most likely due to the unique rolling mop. It’s not too expensive buying from the official store but I typically use 3rd party as they are usually much cheaper for not much performance lost. Eufys accessories does seem more affordable than Ecovac so it is more reasonable. Ecovacs charge almost $50 for 6 vacuum bags….- The base has no storage compartment for cleaning brush or accessories such as vacuum bags like other vacuum bases. However given how space efficient it is, I don’t mind that at all.Cons- Only significant con I have is the price. $1800 is very steep even for a robomop. I have seen it on sale for $1,200 and at that price it is much more reasonable- Multifloor still has issues. While it is great that it has enough mopping capacity for 55-85 minutes which should be enough for majority of homes, the process is not perfect. The biggest thing is once it’s done cleaning another floor and you bring it back to the station, you have to manually push it in to charge then manually empty the dustbin and then manually wash the mop. If you do not do this, it will just try to clean the new floor. I guess they do this so if you want to move it to another floor, it will start cleaning immediately but without a clear return function, you will eventually have to manually do it yourself.I would recommend this if you can get it on the sale price for $1,200 or less. The normal $1,800 price tag is very steep even for robomops and I don’t think it’s worth it. Even at $1,200, you should only buy it if you want the superior mopping otherwise look at Eufy’s other more affordable robomops or Narwhal. I would not recommend Ecovacs as someone who has used them for 2 years…. they’re infamous for buggy software and I now understand why.
Customer Review –
This is my first robotic vacuum mop combo and there is a bit of learning to do on how to navigate and setup the app, but overall, the interface is pretty user friendly. There is no in depth manual, you do have to download one online. To start off, I must say, my house is quite difficult for a robot to clean, because I have carpet and runners in various places and there’s hardwood and tiles as well. In the beginning, I was worried about using the mop function because there are carpet and runners in random spots, but it is all customizable. The other thing is furniture, if it keeps needing to dodge furniture and chairs and things on the ground, it would take longer and there are spaces that it cannot reach too.First off, you set it up and have it charged up, download the app and add the vacuum to your app, then you map your home – it basically moves around your entire home to map it out into respective rooms and areas, and it is quite accurate. In retrospect, I think if I were to map my home again, I would probably move lots of obstacles out of the way first to make it easier to map; since it would see an obstacle, back up and turn a different direction. Then you enter the map and select which areas are carpet, which areas are flooring, and if there are any no mop zones, no go zones. And the areas you highlight may or may not be exactly as you want; for instance, I found it would leave the strip near the wall undone, then I would have to increase the area on the map a bit more and it would acknowledge that, so there is a bit of testing and readjusting the map. Then you program what you want it to do, so I have just completed where I want the post meal clean up, and full house clean. After the first run, readjusting the map, the second run was pretty much perfect. The mop part works quite well, there may be a few drops of water near the station when it leaves, but no big deal (you can select if you want water level to be low medium or high, suction you can choose quiet, standard, turbo or max; and you can select how many times you want it to clean – maybe after a big party, you might want to do double. You are also able to select vacuum and mop or vac only.If there is one particular area you want it to clean, you can also use manual mode, which is pretty neat, it is like a remote control car that you control manually via arrows on the app to bring it to the location for cleaning and it will start its task.It comes with a bottle of detergent that you can hook up to the water reservoir, and the machine will determine how much dilution. You can also clean without any detergent (water only). It takes a bit of time to clean the mop, I assume it must be doing a good job, since it cleans it way longer than I would, and it takes hours for it to dry (hot air is blown on it), so you never get a wet mop musty smell. There is a dirty water reservoir that you have to periodically empty and clean inside the vac unit. The other maintenance thing you have to do is empty and change the vacuum bag; after the robot makes its rounds and collects the debris from the floor, it goes back to the station and empties its garbage into the vac bag in the base. It’ll take a bit of time to set it perfectly to your liking, but once it’s done, it will remember and the second time round it gets faster and more efficient. It is pretty smart, watching it go around is kind of fun, especially seeing it avoid obstacles and trying to find its way around. I did get a positioning error once, meaning it got lost, but it was because of extra obstacles I had in the way.Right now, for its daily clean ritual, I move the chairs to one side, remove all the obstacles, then it can do its thing. I am happy with it, it keeps the kitchen and hallways clean with a daily touch up and a weekly deep clean. And I love how well it does corners and goes right up against the wall! This is perfect for busy households, as you can set it to clean at night and you can wake up to clean floors.

I want to start off by saying that I love this robot vacuum cleaner. Coming from a couple of cheap, no name brand ones, this thing is a dream and I had no idea what I was missing until this arrived.I love that it discharges the dirt from the vacuum into the base station after every clean. You can also configure it to go back and empty after a set amount of time, even mid cleaning, and it will continue where it left off. This was a big problem for my cheapo vacuums because the small tray would fill up and it would basically stop suctioning until it was manually emptied – if you remembered to do so regularly.I also love that the base station holds both clean water and the dirty water evacuated from the vacuum. The amount of water that it holds is incredible and allows for many moppings before needing to be emptied. It will also alert you when it is out of fresh water. After each mopping, it will wash and then dry the mop while it sits in the base station. This is to get it ready for the next cleaning and to keep it fresh and free from smells and mold. It does take a long time to dry though. On the normal setting, it takes 4.5 hours of drying time. You can choose a shorter time period, but that is for warm & dry climates. And it allows you to insert a cleaning solution that will be automatically mixed with the clean water while mopping. The cleaning solution is proprietary and Eufy recommends against using any other brand or risk damaging the unit. It also is not refillable, so you must buy a new bottle when it runs out. I’m sure those two things are not a coincidence and keeps a source of income for Eufy after initial purchase. There are reports online that there is an issue with this unit though and that the cleaning solution does not drain properly. According to reports, Eufy’s suggestion is to drill a small hole in the top of the cleaner container to allow air to enter into the bottle, letting the solution flow out properly. I have no idea how small “small” means though, but I would think slightly larger than a pin hole would allow enough air in. I haven’t attempted it yet. There is also a dust bag, similar to old vacuums. It is not a canister that you can remove and empty into a garbage bin. The advantage is that you don’t have to worry about dust clouds when emptying, the disadvantage is that you will forever be buying replacement dust bags. See comment above about this likely not being a coincidence.I also have to say that the camera and AI detection is loads better than my cheapo vacuums. This one has not yet gotten completely stuck yet. It has gone over things it shouldn’t have, but it has always been able to remove itself from the situation. It make take 3 or 4 tries and several minutes of contemplation, but it gets there. Now that gets me into the part about it be *almost* perfect. Probably my favorite feature of this vacuum is that when it detects a new area of an already established map, it will automatically update it. My old ones needed to delete the map and completely start over if something changed. This was a problem for me because we have foster cats. And some of them can’t be in the same room as each other. So in order to open all interior doors, lift up everything that might be on the floors (dog beds, plants, laundry baskets, boxes, etc., etc., etc.) and move furniture that isn’t bolted down, it makes it near impossible. The first few times I tried it, I moved everything out onto the patio and run around opening and closing doors before and after. It was a huge pain. And rearranging furniture meant doing it all over again. But with this S1, I no longer need to do that. I simply map it and start cleaning. If a door was closed the first time it mapped, it will see that it is now open and will put it on the map. Next time around, I send the vacuum to that area and let it map out the entire new room. It’s fantastic. However, it doesn’t always work. Most of the time it does, but there is one room where I just can’t get it to update the entire room. Actually, there are two rooms, but I’ve only focused on one. There is a corner of the room that is blacked out. I have no idea why – there is nothing in it and is completely bare floor. The vacuum happily skips right past it when cleaning the rest of the room. It doesn’t even acknowledge it – most of the time. There have been a couple of time where it sees the new section and updates the map, but when it comes time to clean it again, it goes back to black. I’ve even tried using manual controls to move it into that area and vacuum it up. When I do, the map updates and again, the same thing next time around. I just can’t figure it out. There is also another area of that same room that is behind the couch. The map shows it as being open and I can manually direct the vacuum in there to clean, but most times it just won’t go into that area. It is narrow and a 90 degree turn to get into it, so I assume that’s why, but there is more than enough room for it to navigate through it if it wanted to and sometimes it does. There are more narrow spaces in my house that this vacuum goes into than this space. And the other thing is obstacle avoidance. For the most part, it is excellent. One time it ran over my dogs ball and it figured out how to get itself off. It was great, but the bigger question is why did it run over it? We also have an Ikea chair and without fail, every time, the vacuum tries to go over the frame and gets stuck. It can’t quite make it all the way over, but it gets on top of it. It then backs up and tries again. It will do it 3 or 4 times before eventually turning around and going around it. But this happens *every* time. And the chair doesn’t move.Hopefully issues like these can be corrected with software updates. I’d imagine they can be as AI improves, but for now it is kind of annoying. In summary, this vacuum is fantastic. It suctions very well, especially on the high setting, it mops well, it looks great and is very quiet. I love it. Fortunately, the problematic corner is in a room that we barely use and that corner doesn’t really collect dirt or dust, but I’d still like it to be included with the rest of the room.

My wife and I have always debated whether a robot vacuum makes sense in our house. I always held the side of skepticism about the effectiveness and reliability of such an appliance. Can it clean under the couch? what about our dinning room? It gets a little too crowded with furniture, so how smart these robot vacuums are, really? My wife had a different opinion. She’s been hearing from her friend raving about her new robot vacuum, how “life-changing” it is, and things like “I haven’t touched a mop in weeks!”. So, of course my wife was intrigued, and I think a little bit envious (allegedly). So, the idea of seeing a robot vacuum in action, and debunking or confirming its capabilities came to fruition with the Eufy S1. So, this review is from a home owner perspective, who have no previous experience with robot vacuums. At this price, I don’t know who would by trying a whole bunch of robot vacuums anyway. The Eufy S1 comes well packaged. Setting it up for the first time requires reading the instructions carefully. Although I don’t tend to read use manuals, but I felt I had to with the S1. It’s not intuitive, which is understandable considering its high tech capabilities. First, make sure that you take off all the stickers on the inside and outside of the vacuum and main station and accessories. There’s one under the water tank that can be easily missed. To use the S1 at its full capabilities, you need to download the Eufy Clean App. There’s a QR code under the magnetic cover of the vacuum, along with the manual on/off switch, and the Wi-Fi button that connects the S1 to the network and app. In case you’re wondering, it’s only compatible with 2.5 GHz network. I was disappointed that it’s not compatible with 5 GHz. Nevertheless, the app walks you through each step. It’s really important to take your time during the first set-up and not rush into cleaning. So, be patient.First you need to attach the side brushes. They are marked grey and red, so make sure that you connect them to their designated slots. Next you have to fully charge it by attaching it to the uniclean station. Then you need let the S1 learn the layout of your house, i.e. rooms zones, etc. (all through the eufy app). Eufy recommends that you run it on vacuum mode for the first 1-3 times, and remove obstacles from the rooms, including cables, so that it can map out the area accurately. Once this step is done, the S1 becomes aware of the room surroundings. The app offers tons of cleaning customizations. You can select to clean the whole home or individual rooms, as well as assign a no go zone within a room and specify the boundaries. You can also select the intensity of the cleaning and choose between fast, standard or deep. There’s an option to select the desired suction power, and whether to use only to vacuum, mop or both. It really allows you to customize it to your home’s layout and cleaning needs. Now for the cleaning. Color me impressed! This little machine picked up everything from dust to crumbs. The mopping feature is my wife’s favourite feature. No more lugging out the bucket and struggling with a soggy mop. The S1 left the floors gleaming, and the uniclean station takes care of disposal without having to get my hands dirty. It even dries the mop. Very impressive! But let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the price. At 1799 CAD, the Eufy S1 is a serious investment. Is it worth it? Well, that depends. If you value convenience and truly despise cleaning floors, then the answer might be a resounding yes. The time saved and the sheer ease of use are hard to put a price on.However, there are a few things to consider. The S1 can be a bit noisy, especially when the mopping function is on. And while it does a decent job on carpets, it’s not quite as powerful as a traditional vacuum. The other thing to consider is maintenance and parts. This adds an additional cost. Eufy also recommends that you only use their cleaning solution, which is pricier than the other brands. If I’m investing 1799 CAD, then I won’t risk it to save few extra dollars on the cleaning solution.Overall, the Eufy S1 exceeded our expectations. It’s smart, well-designed, efficient cleaning machine that brings a touch of futuristic convenience to everyday life. While the price tag might give some pause, for those who prioritize automation and sparkling clean floors, the S1 might just be worth every penny.

This is a very easy-to-set-up robot vacuum. I was a little apprehensive going into this, thinking it would be a lot of technological stuff with a steep learning curve, but it’s basically plug-and-play.The directions are right on the outer box, and it’s just a few steps to get it unboxed, plugged in, and charging. From there, you just install the phone app, and it will be up and running in no time.It first does a run of your house to scan the layout. It can then do a sweep of the rugs and a wipe/mop of the floors. I have about a 1000 sqft main floor, and it took about an hour to do the two runs of sweep and mop.It distinguishes between carpet and hard flooring, and it adjusts itself appropriately to the task at hand (or rather underneath). It has front brushes at each corner of the robot, so it can get into square corners to clean out dust. That said, it won’t *scrub* your floors that hard, so caked on mud or other material won’t come off with this unit necessarily. You will have to remove hard stains by hand or with something more heavy duty. However, there is a “deep clean” mode that I haven’t tried yet. Maybe that will do the trick on harder stuff. From the app, you can control the various settings on the unit. You can program different cleaning schedules depending on your needs. You could do daily or set a custom schedule. You can set it for different times of day, so you could have it run while you’re at work. When done, it will self-empty the robot unit. Yet, there is also a wet unit on the robot that you can and should empty by hand. It’s pretty simple to pull out the wet filter and rinse it under the sink. They recommend letting it dry completely before re-assembly. This requires a bit of extra time. It’s not a good idea to to let dirty water sit in these units, as they can start to smell (I know from experience with another smart-vac that I have). But, it’s not a big chore to empty this after it cleans your home. Maybe a couple of minutes and then tamp it dry and let it sit for full drying.I have to stress how convenient this thing is. I can just put it on when I leave the house for work or to run errands, and I come back to a freshly swept and rinsed floor. It’s fantastic. I have a dog and he leaves hair and bits of debris around the house, and this thing is great for cleaning.Of course, this thing won’t get into tight spots like the spaces between the fridge and the counter, and it may not be able to navigate all the chair legs under you dining table. But, you can move these on occasion and allow it to do its thing. You can even use this on multiple floors, and it will map different areas. The “home base” is somewhat big, and you’ll want to have a place to store it. It needs to “landing strip” space to get in and out of the home base, so it may not fit in a small closet (unless the door opens straight out). Personally, I’ve placed it in the most inconspicuous corner of my house that I could find, as I don’t have a lot of main floor closet space.I highly recommend this product, as it works really well to keep the surfaces of your floors nice and clean on a regular basis with very little maintenance from you.I’m happy with this item.
