Wonderful collection of classic stories
I bought this to introduce my child to some of the classics. She loves the ‘5 minute stories’ books and this has been a great addition. Note that many of the stories in the book do not match their Disney versions. I’m not sure if that’s just because Disney changed the stories and these are more traditional or if the authors made their own edits. Either way, a large and lovely collection that my child adores.

All the best stories
My 4-year-old daughter is really into fairytales, and I wanted to get a book that included more than just a few. This book is exactly what I was looking for! It’s the perfect blend of fairytales, folktales, and fables, and they all can be read in approximately 5 minutes. For us, this means we choose a few to read every night. I liked it so much I bought a copy for my niece’s birthday. The one thing I’ll note is that the cover is different. The one pictured is green but the one we received had a less attractive gray cover. But that’s my sole complaint.

Great alternative to graphic novels for elementary school students.
As a reading tutor, I’ve been dismayed by the graphic novel craze for kids in elementary and middle school; while they are fun, often funny, and encourage interactions with books, the graphic novels really can’t prepare kids for reading and understanding text that comes in paragraphs. The Five Minute Stories are a useful way to build that skill without boring or discouraging readers who quail at a page without pictures. Oh, there are plenty pictures in the collection, but they support rather than dominate the text on the page. Each story is short, not more than about 6 pages total, so kids know when they start that there is an end they can reach. The student I work with has been very resistant to traditional chapter books; she sees several paragraphs of text, few pictures, and decides the book is too difficult for her. But she’s perfectly willing to read a Five Minute Story during our work session. Over time, her speed and accuracy have been increasing, along with her confidence.

Not the same colour
Love the stories and the beautiful illustrations inside. The only negative comment is that the colour of the cover is not green at all.

A MUST BUY!!
We absolutely love this book. The stories are the right length, offer the right amount of dialogue, and are downright fun reads. We have a 7 week old son that loves every bit of the voices we read. The stories are long enough for him to maintain his focus on us until he falls asleep. Excellent quality on the actual book itself as well. Sturdy hardback, strong pages.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
This book is just what I have been looking for!! I have learned that so many children and young as well as older adults have missed out on the opportunity of becoming familiar with classic fables and fairy tales that the older generations grew up with. Many analogies in classic literature reference the lessons, mishaps, and adventures that can be found in these fables and fairy tales, not to mention the fact that they are short and often entertaining to many.

All classic fairytales in one book!
My son is 2.6 old, we are not native English speakers. I wanted book with interesting stories to read him and teach English. This is very good. There are simple stories and more advanced ones. So I think we will use this book pretty long time. Quality is also fine. Language is pretty simple for not native speakers.

Best book! All the classic. Love the images and the stories are well written. I live reading it to my baby. And he loves looking at the pictures.

Nice length stories for a 2 or 3 year old before turning off the light. Though the story tellers got confused between Peter and the Wolf, and The Boy who cried Wolf…

My 3yo loves these stories before bed, and I am happy he is learning the classics.

Great Item & service!!

My daughter loves it but I think the stories are not that great.Way too much “focus” on the girls getting married for my taste. And all stories are a really really short version of popular stories which can confuse the child.
